Watching the news I am disturbed that black political pundits are suggesting Obama's disturbing connections to Jeremiah Wright should be allowed to die a natural death, even suggesting that we as "White People" are hearing things wrong, do not understand the "Black Perspective." Funny, do not remember the Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jackson's of the world letting charges of white hate speech dying until after the offending party had lost their career.
Close your eyes, or pretend you do not know the ethnic origins of the parties involved in this brewing scandal that could take down Obama, potentially end not just his run for the Presidency, but his political career. If you heard Reverend Jeremiah Wright's words, read them on a printed page, are they hate speech? It is a simple yes or no question, and if you answer yes, then should Reverend Wright, Senator Obama be held to the same standards of accountability that we hold our white politicians to?
This is what we call hitting it out of the park.
No, this is what we call editorializing, soft journalism.
And your statement caroaber, is what we call apologetics and damage control. Dugan is right, the article is devastating, since it weaves together all the hard facts surrounding this issue which are undeniable.
Any open-minded observer can see that Obama's ship has suffered a fatal blow and is headed to the bottom of the sea. If he defends Wright, he'll be seen as a black supremacist, anti-American like his beloved pastor.
If Obama denies knowing about what was taught in his church (which he has) he'll be seen as a liar since no one is going to believe that he's never heard Wright say similar things over his 20 year attendance at the church.
Obama won't easily weasel out of this scandal and if Hillary and McCain have any brains, they won't let him get away with it either, unlike the far left loonies that will follow him to the ends of the earth no matter what.
Here's some other intriguing videos that people might not have seen in the media fallout of this scandal:

I completely agree with you that Obama's campaign is over because he won't be out of reasonable doubt for his credibility, judgment and eventually electability as his STRONG tie with the "anti-American" pastor Rev. Wright. He has too much to denounce his "mentor" and "uncle" who has been associated with him for too long. The church he, his wife (who just realized to be proud of this country recently, sounds familiar?), and his family are associated is full of hatred stirred by this pastor. There is no way people are going to believe that he is beyond the doubt and coming out of that hatred clean. Republicans will attack him relentlessly on this if Hillary's campaign doesn't.
I am very sad about our great loss of such inspirational, smart, and young candidate. I guess we have no choice but dumping him. Next Monday and Tuesday we will see people come out to ask him to quit the campaign...OMG, politics is too dirty...
I have, maybe because my life is so boring, spent the last 1/2 hour or so looking through stuff that I found when I searched 'Jeremiah Wright' through Google News. Anyone who thought this was going away is in for the shock of their lives.
There is open contempt for Obama's assertion that he didn't know of many hate speeches by Jeremiah Wright. There are assertions that Obama is lying about his, and his pastor's, relationship to Louis Farrakhan. I have never seen a Presidential candidate so openly called a bald faced liar over a single issue.(although that occasionally happens after they get elected).
It would appear that Obama is under an avalanche and doesn't even know it yet. I do feel sympathy for him, because I do believe he is a person sincerely intending to help this country in such troubled times, and the historic nature of his run for the Presidency would be nice and sorely needed story of racial , uh, improvements. But I don't see how that can or should happen now. There was a certain arrogance on Obama's part, on his campaign's part, and on the politically active black and leftist community's part, that they could simply act as if the candidate's connection to this hate filled bigot was either meaningless, or THEY would tell us all what it meant (or they would call us racist, and that would be that).
Part of me wishes he could get out from under this and learn a lesson and stop using the race card against Hillary Clinton and we could have what's left of a fair election. But it seems to late for that now.
yes they should be hold accountable....blacks, are by most standards the most racist ethnic
group. but they wont admit to this fact...they think like victims, and are paronoid, and feel
they have gotten a bad deal.. the fact is they think also they should be giving money
by the gov, like the japanese had... give me!! give me!! give me!!......
not all of them mind you, but a lot of them dooo....
Yikes! Funny enough, I can fully see where the Reverend was coming from. When he says "Rich White Man" he is referring to Aristocrats. While the sound of the Reverend preaching is very passionate, how can we blame him? Didn't many people in the U.S. have questions about the Government's Involvement in 9/11? Didn't many people question the 9/11 Commission's failure to address key concerns relating to the attacks? Have you ever been fired from your job because you just didn't seem for fit the mold or 'clique' well? Do we even know what is really going on in the World?
A voice speaks out about the possible link between the Current Administration and the attacks. Never mind Prescott Bush behind a Financial Group that orchestrated the Great Depression, never mind the Bush Sr.'s Involvement with the CIA right before JFK's assassination in TEXAS. Never mind the pride we once took in being a Fair, Just, and rational country of the people. Now we'll dismiss any thoughts that don't align themselves with what we grew up believing this Country stood for. Condemn a person for invoking a right to question the powers who be.
When will you begin to think for yourselves? When you fold your arms, and say "Yes Master" *blink*
If you were raised to be ignorant, what would be your first clue?

I never thought of that. I'm going to write that down on a piece of paper and put in under my hat.
You can FULLY see where Wright is coming from? You can see how it makes sense that the US government created HIV in a lab specifically to wipe out people of color? And furthermore you can see how it makes sense that the government gives people of color drugs, directly so they can imprison them, with their big prisons? It's not that Wright questions, it's that he does so with such stupidity.
Thanks for the seed. It was the best article I have seen yet it even made me join the gathering, seems there are some art groups there. I have found many articles as well in my Google search for Rev Wright. My husband and I have late night talks, he works second shift. He said this we would never vote for a white supremacist nor would we vote for a someone who still attends a church like Trinity. Either way it is wrong.
I agree Obama is under an avalanche. Maybe there is something wrong with me I don't feel sympathy for him, not yet anyways. (Maybe because he won more delegates in Iowa this weekend.) I however recognize his naievete. How could he think that his church and the mentorship of Rev Wright would not become an issue?
It bothers me that he went to the press with the additional monies from Rezko he received. He did this so it would not see the light of day so to speak. I noticed it. He even claimed in his interview that some of the money could not be returned or given to charities because it had already been spent. He also said that he does not have finance records from earlier campaigns because he did not have the organization then that he has now.
Maybe it hasn't hurt him in Iowa but according to comments I have been reading at ABC and other sites the good citizens of North Carolina are asking a lot of questions.
@dugan I agree with your last statement above.
Well... I guess its a good thing that Jeremiah Wright isn't the one running for president then!
LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.....you are what you eat. Does that make sense ? Its simple really. You are what you consume. You are the sum of those you associate with. Did youre mother ever tell you not to hang out with someone because they were bad news ? Dont try to tell me YOU dont understand. I AM A WHITE MAN. I GREW UP IN A LESS THAN DESIRABLE NEIGHBORHOOD, that doesnt matter. I, ME, I, MADE THE DECISION, to seperate myself from those who went in the other direction. Obama has gone to this "church" for TWENTY years !!! If he, is not man enough to say this Mr. Wright is WRONG, than Obama is not a man I would want as the leader of this country. You cannot go to someones church, be married by them, have a book named by them and have them baptise your children UNLESS you agree with them. I LOVE THE PASTOR OF MY CHURCH, BUT, If this same information came from his mouth, I would no longer BE a member of my his church. You are talking about a canidate to be the leader of the free world !! Who you associate with DOES mean something. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT !!! PERIOD !! ACCOUNTABILITY !!! WHAT KIND OF MAN OR WOMAN DO YOU WANT LEADING THIS COUNTRY ?
GOD BLESS YOU AND EVERY AMERICAN.
DAVID
You must've eaten some bad grammar
I thought the article was pretty good, but, almost by coincidence, I have found it plagarizes large parts of this article by Jim Davis
That's interesting.
Obama credits Wright with converting him to Christianity, yet would have us believe he had no clue of the hateful bigoted racist remarks attributed to Jeremiah Wright?
Converting him to Christianity? Humm wonder what he was 21 years ago.
I like my Conservative friend above dwhee74 (although I am a liberal Democrat) grew up in a less then desirable neighborhood also. In the late 50's and 60's the neighborhood went from a melting pot to hot spot. Being one of only 2 white kids to graduate from Junior High in 1962 to say the least was a challenge. My friends were Puerto Rican and Black we stuck together and if kids from another neighborhood came in to start trouble we gave them hell. We didn't have hate for each other as we were all in the same boat. To hear his man spew this garbage simply pisses me off.
This is nothing more than a religious test through the media. I don't care what faith one has or how one practices it, as long as they are fit to be President based upon their own actions. We don't have a religious test of the faith of Presidential candidates, but that is exactly what people have been doing by proxy. If people don't like his politics say so, loud and clear. Make the political points. All this other stuff is getting into an area even our founding father's didn't want to go. It was brought up with Romney for being Mormon, and might have well cost him, and the GOP the Presidency. But we never know.
Faith and religion should be off the table and candidates should be taken at their word in matters of faith and religion. This is not only an attack on Trinity, and Obama, but the thousands of members and adherents of the UCC. I am appalled that now we exploit footage taken in the sanctuary of the church to cast aspersions of doubt on the faith and sincereness of anyone, whether a Presidential candidate, or any citizen.
This may be only a feeding frenzy of sorts to the gleeful right now. But when we sink this low, it will come back to haunt many, to insitigate "witch hunts" to shut down churches, private schools, to add to investigations of civil servants, for the purpose of driving down attendance of competing denominations. Anyone who thinks this is all a good thing, wait until it becomes part of regular background checks, of local politics, when people can't run for school superintendent because of their preachers point of view. I will bet this will spread as a new tactic in character assasination.
I don't know what the heck you're looking at but 'this' has very little to do with religion.
So basically no member of Trinity should run for office without being accountable for what this preacher said. So now anyone who runs for office can expect footage of their church to show up on the local news. Now it has become acceptable to go into the churches, exploit and examine the minister, pastor, or philisophy of a public servant to further an attack. This is opening a door far too wide. There is not a church in this country that doesn't have some questionable philosophy that is preached from the pulpit.
I SUPPOSE ALL THE WHITE CHRISTIAN AND CATHOLIC CHURCHES FEEL VINDICATED FOR ALL THEIR TRANSGRESSION OF HATE, SEXUAL ABUSE, RACISM AND OTHER HYPOCRITICAL ACTIONS ON THEIR SIDE OF THE FENCE. WHEN FREEDOM OF SPEECH GOES OUT THE WINDOW SO DOES THE CONSTITUTION WHICH BUSH ALREADY CONDEMNED. PEOPLE FOLLOWED THE WORD OF BUSH WHO LIED AND THOUSANDS DIED. FOR WHAT? I HOPE MR OBAMA STANDS ON HIS DIGNITY AND FOLLOW THE TRUTH IN HIS HEART TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THE USA. EVERYBODY ELSE HAS FAILED. EVEN MR. MC CAINS SPIRITUAL ADVISOR HAS TWISTED THOUGHTS FOR HIS CAMPAIGN. WHEN WILL THE MEDIA REPORT ON THOSE ISSUES? KEEP THE PLAYING FIELD EQUAL.
Boy, I must be doing ok, if the worst you can say is my grammer sucks !! Thanks for the compliment, and God bless you too.
